High School Faith Formation
What is High School Life Teen?
Life Teen is for grades nine through twelve. High School youth nights are a time to come together to pray, socialize, and ask the big questions. High Schoolers are led through a series of games, small group conversations, and opportunities to pray in meaningful ways.
My child isn't receiving sacraments this year. Why attend?
In the same way that our children return to school year after year, Faith Formation is meant to take place every year. We are blessed to love a God who is ever expansive, always a God our hearts ache to know more about. Our children deserve a relationship with God and the community they have been called to be a part of.
Confirmation
Confirmation deepens our baptismal life that calls us to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ in our families, neighborhoods, society, and the world. . . We receive the message of faith in a deeper and more intensive manner with great emphasis given to the person of Jesus Christ, who asked the Father to give the Holy Spirit to the Church for building up the community in loving service.
In the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized person is "sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit" and is strengthened for service to the Body of Christ.
At St. John Vianney, Confirmation classes begin in the tenth grade.

Sacramental Catch-Up
In the Archdiocese of Atlanta, the ‘norm’ for reception of first communion is the 2nd grade. First Communion programs are designed for 2nd graders. They use language appropriate for a 2nd grader and ask questions at a 2nd grade level. When a child seeks first communion at a later age, they need to receive additional and/or different formation. They need to discuss topics at an appropriate level for them – not a second-grade level. Therefore, we have four separate programs here at St. John Vianney to prepare students for their First Communion, each seeking to best prepare your child at their level.
9th - 12th graders welcome!
