First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion

The Sacrament Itself

Catholics believe the Eucharist, or Communion, is both a sacrifice and a meal. We believe in the real presence of Jesus, who died for our sins. As we receive Christ’s Body and Blood, we also are nourished spiritually and brought closer to God. Those who have received First Communion and are free from Mortal Sin, are able to receive Holy Communion at any of the Masses celebrated here at St. John Vianney, or any other Catholic Church.

Registration for First Holy Communion

St. John Vianney requires registration every spring for all Faith Formation classes including all sacraments.  Families must be registered with the parish at least one year prior to Faith Formation Registration to register for classes to receive sacraments.
